Anton Nemme
Lecturer
Anton Nemme is an academic design practitioner and graduate of UTS. After completing his training in Industrial Design, he began his career in the field of product design visualisation, using computer graphics techniques to produce 3D models and renderings for some of Sydney Australia's leading Product Design consultancies.
With a move to academia, he has developed a strong research interest in simulation of structures for product designers; now made possible through generative design software processes. Generative design processes show great promise for more efficient use of material resources in the future and this potential aligns very well with his interest in applications for advanced manufacturing. Anton has a strong focus on Product Design teaching; being involved across undergraduate year groups.
His research concerns university-industry collaboration, generative design, efficient material use and reuse, applications for 3D printing, the value of iteration in design process and authenticity in design education. He is a member of the Integrated Product Design Research Group (IPD-R) with a track record of working with local SMEs to explore and solve their complex innovation requirements. Anton is currently a PhD student exploring applications for 3D printing via techniques of foreign part placement (FPP).
