Linen Imbopinni | Genevieve Lovell

These bowls are made from french linen. The idea was to have an usable table object that did not dominate the space - the bowl was designed so that the curved shape and transparency gave the feeling of just being - not dominating.

The curves were not uniform so that the object didn't pronounce itself - rather to draw people to it by its quiteness.

The linen was dipped in edible resin and shaped over a mould. When the resin became tacky, the mould was removed and the shaped linen inverted. The object was then shaped by hand and dried in the sun until firm. Further adjustments were made to the curves when the object could hold its own shape.

Ribbon | Alfred Ching

The visual motif of the spiral is one of the oldest and most enigmatic images known. spiral patterns are found extensively in nature – encoded into plants, animals etc. ribbon draws reference from these helical forms in creating a distinct form factor that generates movement in a static, inanimate object.

Ribbon is a vase that features two distinct components. A polypropylene ribbon sleeve fastened together with custom brass fasteners and glass vessel crafted from discarded wine bottles. ribbon also embraces environmental responsibility by re-purposing discarded items, it is not only restricted to the glass vessel provided, but can also act as a sleeve over any other vessel that would fit into its footprint.

Zig | Kenny Son

Zig provides two focal spaces for storage and containment, on the actual work itself as well as the negative spaces between the desk-top surface and the raised body of
the work.

Zig has the value of storing and containing other objects to enhance desk-top management and tidiness.

Zig is a smart and stylish object, which allows time at our desks to be more clear, ordered and organised.
